A record $3.8 billion (approximately R$19.2 billion) worth of cryptocurrencies was stolen from various services last year, with many of these thefts conducted by hackers linked to North Korea, according to a company report blockchain analysis tool Chainalysis. The increase in cryptocurrency thefts of $3.3 billion (R$16.6 billion) in 2021 came as the overall market suffered significant declines.
