Já não é de agora que nós ouvimos sobre desmatamentos na floresta Amazônica, consequentemente na destruição de habitats inteiros onde vivem especies endêmicas, ou seja, a flora e a fauna sempre estiveram nos destaques das mídias, o que muda na situação atual é a intensidade com que estes processos estão acontecendo, chegando a números nunca antes registrados.
Segundo dados do Observatório do Clima, em 1975 o desmatamento acumulado na Amazonia era de 27.000 km², em 45 anos chegamos a 800.000 km², isso equivale ao território da Espanha e Italia juntos. Os números atuais mostraram que a partir de 2019, após o presidente Jair Bolsonaro (sem Partido) cancelar o Plano de Ação para Prevenção e Controle do Desmatamento na Amazônia (PPCDAm), o desmatamento aumentou em 34%, a maior alta em 11 anos.

It is not new that we ve heard about deforestation in the Amazon forest, consequently in the destruction of entire habitats where endemic species live, that is, flora and fauna have always been in the media's highlights, what changes in the current situation is the intensity with that these processes are taking place, reaching numbers never before recorded.
According to data from the Climate Observatory, in 1975 the accumulated deforestation in the Amazon was 27,000 km², in 45 years we reached 800,000 km², this is equivalent to the territory of Spain and Italy together. Current figures show that starting in 2019, after President Jair Bolsonaro (no Party) canceled the Action Plan for Prevention and Control of Deforestation in the Amazon (PPCDAM), deforestation increased by 34%, the highest act in 11 years.
